From the desk of Angelo Mazzocco, President
We live in an economy where access to “free” or not for profit is becoming a part of our every day lives. It is in this spirit that we would like to launch the Pillar Training Series. It is our passion that we should not profit from the distribution of knowledge. So our courses will be unique. All proceeds generated from a course will be donated to charity. All work done in the course will be for a charity. This is Pillar’s small contribution back to the individuals in our movement that shared so freely their thoughts and ideas. This was inspired by the “Agile Manifesto” and many other foundational works in the industry.
Thank you for supporting us and our attempt to educate and donate to worthwhile social causes.

Pillar has designed a single-day agile project simulation that is engaging, educational, provocative, and fun. We divide attendees into teams, and using a GUI-based Integrated Development Environment, each team spends most of the day in a stripped-down, complete agile project. This Simulation introduces concepts like time-boxed iterations, User Stories, collective estimation, commitment to a product owner for iteration scope, formal verification ritual at iteration conclusion, tracking velocity, and making results big and visible through burndown or burn-up charts. The exercise is designed to simulate not only how agile teams and practices work, but the inevitable challenges and hiccups that arise as teams attempt to adopt several such practices at the same time.
