5 Tools for Better Testing in Java - Technical Track
Todd Kaufman

There are no less than 50 viable tools for developing automated unit, functional, and integration tests in Java. Unfortunately, many of these tools are just a different DSL or syntax for the same junk.

In this webinar we will share the five tools for testing Java applications that we use to develop automated tests that are quickly executed, extensive, and extremely readable by other developers.

This talk will provide some extensive hands on knowledge of how to use Hamcrest, Mockito, Powermock, InnerClasses, and Spring.test. Developers will walk away with a smaller, but more powerful toolbox of testing utilities to leverage in their Java projects.

Using Systems Thinking to Help Agile Scale in the Enterprise
Daryl Kulak
Teams who implement Agile practices but do not experience success can become frustrated. Are they doing Agile wrong? Maybe, but some problems within Agile cannot be solved by Agile itself. We need to look at a bigger picture. Systems thinking can provide that bigger picture, offering a way to improve our Agile practices and create a process that is customized for the team, the business problem and the current environment. In this Webinar, we will use the Soft Systems Methodology to understand how to identify Agile issues, find leverage points and make incremental improvements.

Story Testing - An Introduction
Patrick Welsh
Historically, organizations have relied on a manual, subjective test, to determine if a user story is complete. Story Testing is the process of devising an automated test, at the story level, that gives us a precise method of determining if a story is complete. Examples of tools in this space are Fitnesse, Robot Framework, Cucumber, etc. Leveraging a Story Testing approach helps teams learn how to assure that work is broken down in to more manageable segments. Join us to learn how you can create a test-driven approach to a requirements scope.

Velocity in the Enterprise [Management]
Mike Cottmeyer
Having a stable team velocity is critical to delivering a well run and predictable agile project. When organizations begin comparing velocity between teams, or trying to roll-up velocity across teams, many find that team level performance doesn’t necessarily provide an accurate picture of project or portfolio level performance. This talk explores where velocity works, and where velocity fails, and outlines several approaches for tracking project and portfolio performance in more complex software development organizations.
